Japanese Kamakura-Bori Lacquer Ink Case
This early to mid-1900’s well crafted lacquer ink case represents the well known lacquering technique from Kamakura, where after the piece has been carved with a bean pod and leaf motif, black lacquer serves as an undercoat for top coats of vermilion lacquer. It shows signs of use with a deeply carved signature on the lid. Length: 6 ½" Width: 3 ¾” Height: 1 ¾”
