| This early 1900's finely hand painted paper fan is decorated with chidori in flight over waves, a favored Japanese theme of art. Overcoming high waves and strong winds to migrate, the chidori is seen as an emblem of perseverance and the conquering of obstacles. The sticks and guards are finely grained zitan wood.
