| Beneath a layer of vertical strips of bamboo lies a carefully constructed body that functions as a support structure to this early to mid-1900's ikebana basket. It has been woven in what is referred to as a lozenge pattern. The symmetry of this piece has been complemented by a wide band of natural vine woven horizontally through the base.
