By varying the width of thin bamboo strips and the tightness of the plaiting, Yanagishita Shokan, an award-winning Tochigi artist has created a functional sculpture. A contrasting strip of bamboo resembling a loose tie has been woven around the neck. It comes with a bamboo liner and an unsigned wooden storage box. Mid-1900’s. Excellent Condition.
