This early to mid-1900s signed four eared tea storage jar is a product of the Tamba kilns. It has a rich brown body with a thick green ash glaze dripping down one side. Excellent condition.

This early to mid-1900s very special ceramic crouching rabbit was designed by the Kyoto artist Kiyomizu Rokube. Its white glaze and plump body embodies the spirit of the moon reflected in Japanese folk beliefs. It is signed on the underside and is in excellent condition. It comes in the original signed box.

This early to mid-1900s glazed stoneware plate is from the Mashiko kilns. It has been thickly potted and decorated in turquoise, brown and cream glazes. An incised signature of the potter is on the bottom. Excellent condition.

This mid-1900s set of signed Bizen dishes with raised sides is deeply incised with a wave pattern. The slow firing created a rich, reddish brown color. An abstract streak pattern was produced by the way the pieces were wrapped and stacked in the kiln. Excellent condition.

This mid-1900s thickly potted pitcher with lid is a product of the Kasama kilns. The clay is covered in a mottled green, rust and brown glaze with the surface covered in scattered dots on one side and striations on the other. Excellent condition with wonderful color, texture, form and balance.

This early to mid-1900s Bizen pottery kogo or incense container is in the form of Daruma. It has an unusual hexagonal shape, stylization and deep carving. There is fine attention to detail and balance as seen in the facial features, fly whisk and robes. There has been a repair to the upper back section.

This slab plate is the work of Iwabuchi Shigeya, a Kyoto potter known for his white salt glazed pieces. It has a wonderful thick white and peach colored glaze with a sweeping movement of deep incised lines and raised corners. This piece titled White Wave was exhibited at Mitsukoshi Department Store in 1973. Excellent condition with a signed box.

The artist of this lovely mid-1900s set of tea cups has captured Daruma with a stern expression and deeply furrowed brow. They have been finely crafted in a cream crackled glaze and deep rust paint that accent parts that have been left unglazed. They are in excellent condition with a stamp and signature on the base.
