This pair of late 1800’s Japanese six panel screens is painted in color on goldleaf paper. Each panel features two fans composed of chrysanthemum designs in green, yellow and white on a beige ground. The chrysanthemums are raised with a technique using crushed shells. Normal signs of wear associated with age. Height: 68” Length: 144”

This late 1800’s two-panel screen consists of wood panels depicting seated poets with their clothing appliquéd in silk on a gold sprinkled ground. On the back is a fan painting of a chrysanthemum, peony and butterfly design. The other contains overlapping fans with a toy warrior scene. It is mounted in a black and gold lacquer frame. Normal signs of wear associated with age. Height: 29 ½” Length: 58”
