This lovely early 1900’s Japanese bronze okimono is in the form of Mt. Fuji. The top of the mountain is silvered to resemble snow with pine trees realistically clustered at the base. Very good condition.

This early 19th century Bizen sculpture is of a dog sitting on a patch of grass. The slow firing in the kiln has produced a rich, reddish brown color with ash creating splashes of a green glaze to the top of the head and parts of the body. It is in very good condition except for a hairline crack on the right paw.

This early 20th century Ohi koro incense burner is shaped as a shishi or mythical lion. It has the characteristic Ohi rich amber iron glaze and has been finely crafted with wonderful stylized detailing. There is a carved signature on the base and it comes in the original signed box. Very good condition with a minor chip on a lower tooth.

This late 19th century bronze ikebana vase captures the Japanese essence of function and beauty. It has a graceful shape with a flared mouth in the form of a chrysanthemum with curved bamboo shaped handles. The surface has a rich mottled rust and brown patina. Good condition.

This exquisitely hand carved and painted wooden sculpture depicts the Buddhist monk Kobo Daishi sitting on his lacquered throne in a meditative pose. This piece was commissioned by fellow followers wishing to perpetuate his memory. Early 1900’s. Very good condition with surface scratches and wear associated with age.

This early 1900’s Japanese wooden folk art container has been shaped, carved and textured out of paulownia wood in the form of a toad. It has a wonderful patina and is in good condition.
This early 1900’s glazed stoneware spouted vessel was used to hold soy sauce, vinegar or sake. A wonderful creamy blue ash glaze spills over the deep iron glazed shoulder. Excellent condition.

This early 1900’s two piece hand carved wooden mold was used for making traditional rice-flour cakes. It is shaped as a sea bream, symbolizing good fortune and has a wonderful dark patina associated with years of use. Excellent condition with minor surface marks.

This lacquered container is decorated in gold and silver makie with scattered and overlapping yin yang symbols. Gold and silver nashiji cover the bottom and interior. It comes in its original signed box and is dated 1910. Very good condition.
