This early 1900’s two piece hand carved wooden mold was used for making traditional rice-flour cakes. It is shaped as a sea bream, symbolizing good fortune and has a wonderful dark patina associated with years of use. Excellent condition with minor surface marks. A deep incised signature on the back reads Miuraya.

This early 1900’s Japanese bowl is a product of the Kasama kilns. It is decorated with grass and birds on a cream ground with a deep teal glaze dripping over the lip onto the inside with the same glaze repeated on the exterior. The surface marks on the inside are the result of small tsuchi dango, or clay pellets, used to separate the bowl when being fired. Very good condition with normal firing irregularities.
Height: 4 ¼”
Diameter: 10”
